Save recipes from Instagram
Instagram's Saved folder keeps the post, not the recipe. Foodie pulls the recipe out of the caption and files it with the rest of your cooking, with the creator's name on it.

How to save a Instagram recipe in Foodie
- 01
Share the Reel or post
Tap the Share icon under the Reel or post. Tap Copy link, or open the system share sheet and pick Foodie.
- 02
Tap Import Recipe
If you shared to Foodie, the link is already filled in. If you copied it, open Foodie, tap Import Recipe and paste it on the URL tab.
- 03
Check and cook
Foodie lists the ingredients, numbers the steps, keeps the photo and the creator's handle, and links back to the post. Then plan it into your week or send it to the grocery list.
What Foodie reads
Foodie reads the caption of the Reel or post. It works for both, and for single photos and carousels, as long as the account is public. It does not listen to the Reel's audio.
"Recipe on my blog, link in bio"
Open the creator's blog and import that page instead. Recipe websites usually carry the full recipe with exact amounts, and Foodie reads them directly.
The recipe is in a carousel image
Screenshot the slide with the ingredients and use the Image tab on the Import Recipe screen.
The caption is just a dish name
Foodie then drafts a recipe from the dish name. Treat it as a starting point and check it against the Reel.
Instagram recipes: questions
Does Foodie work with Instagram Reels?
Yes. Paste or share a Reel link the same way as a photo post. Foodie reads the caption of either.
Can Foodie import from private Instagram accounts?
No. Foodie can only read public posts. For a private post, copy the caption and paste it on the Text tab.
Does Foodie credit the Instagram creator?
Yes. The creator's handle is saved as the author, and the recipe keeps the link to the original post.
Is saving Instagram recipes free?
Yes. The free plan includes 3 recipe imports every 7 days. Foodie Premium removes the limit.
